Sketched out two action poses. The first, Hot Rod leaps headlong into a battle.
I've sketched two places I can put the bird. Most likely, the bird will have to
go to the lower left-hand side since HotRod's spoiler may obscure the bird.
The second, Hot Rod bravely faces the enemy -- truly the cavalier.

30-Aug-00 Hot Rod sketches: Round 1
Don't be alarmed! All are just rough sketches.
Hot Rod as a vehicle. I will probably drop the side pipes to cover the back wheels instead of going over them. This is more consistant with the original Hot Rod car form.
Next, we have a standing sketch of Hot Rod. I'll put him into a nice action pose. But finding the right pose takes a bit of time and inspiration. Here is a shot of his backside so you can see the car's air-vents become VTOL engines for his backpack.
Firebolt will be a Targetmaster flamethrower! Targetmaster Firebolt transforms either to a fuel backpack with two flamethrower rifles for other "*Master" robots. But for Hot Rod, he becomes an arm-mounted tank where the rifles combine for a dual flame rifle. When Hot Rod is in vehicle mode, Firebolt's tanks mount on back and the rifles mount above the rear wheels.
I'm hoping to add a scout partner "phoenix" that can provide HotRod with a semi-autonomous eye-in-the-sky. The bird can add on as a spoiler for the car mode and maneuvering wings in robot mode.
